Ordered the osso bucco with risotto and a side order of asparagus. The osso bucco came out 1 to 2 minutes later. The aspagus took some time. The must cook it in advance with i understand. The meat was very good The risotto okay a little over cooked. The aspagus was great with lots of garlic and parmesean. Wine selection is nice and prices reasonable. Would go back.
A friend recommended this place so I went. It was a Saturday afternoon at 13:30 and was told to wait 30-45 mins. So I waited!! Our waiter was great and friendly while the greeting host was 〜〜〜 Ordered the Costolette alla Milanese and Risotto ala Milanese. The meat came in reasonable portion and definitely should only order to share. The Risotto ala Milanese was AMAZING!! It was so simple and delicious!! This one, you don’t want to share!! Would visit again and maybe next time, make a reservation first!
My first visit in Milan then my husband brought me in Trattoria Milanese restaurant. My first impression of the restaurant was very quiet and the staffs are very accomodating. The food here is perfectly cooked. It was very delicious. 10 out of 10.
Trattoria Milanese is the kind of place you hope to stumble upon in a city like Milan—deeply rooted in tradition, and refreshingly unpretentious. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear this wasn’t just another tourist spot. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between old-world charm and refined elegance, making it ideal for both casual lunches and special dinners. What truly elevated our experience was the impeccable service. Our waiter was not only warm and attentive, but also incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with genuine care. It felt like being hosted rather than simply served. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was flawless—beautifully prepared, generously portioned, and full of authentic Lombardian flavor. Whether it was a classic Milanese veal cutlet, or side dish artichokes everything hit the mark. Price-wise, Trattoria Milanese offered value, especially given the quality of food and service. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines such authenticity, professionalism, and reasonable pricing in a city known for its tourist rip-offs. All in all, this was an outstanding dining experience—easily one of the highlights of our time in Milan. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a true taste of the city.
The wait staff was friendly and very encouraging with questions about the menu. The food was great, and the spot was recommended to us by locals for good reason. Make a reservation or get in line before opening.
Lively trattoria with more than generous portions and good selection of wine. Ensure to book in advance to avoid a long wait, plenty of decent cocktail bars nearby.
This was exactly the authentic Italian/Lombardian dining experience we were chasing. Matteo was our waiter and couldn’t have been better; warm, welcoming and happy to translate the menu into English. We started with artichokes, cured meats and bread, all spot on. For mains, I ordered the cotoletta (a house specialty) with roast potatoes and vegetables. Generous, crispy and perfectly cooked. My wife had the pumpkin ravioli which looked incredible. A live band later arrived playing accordion and trombone, lifting the atmosphere and rounding out a truly memorable night.
An absolutely outstanding restaurant with an incredible waiter who looked after us exceptionally well. We handed over control of the menu to this trusted professional, and what followed was a feast to remember. Starters included thinly sliced veal with tuna mousse that was simply out of this world, alongside cooked artichoke and Parma ham served with big, juicy figs. Next came the pasta course, with four of us sharing two plates – one featuring the sweetness of pumpkin, the other cooked in a beautifully reduced veal broth. Both were exceptional. For mains, we enjoyed one of my personal favourites – veal escalope – as well as another veal dish cooked in a rich bone broth. Although we could hardly manage it, three desserts arrived: an excellent tiramisu, some ice cream with aa alcoholic sauce and a third dessert that was quite simply one of the best I’ve ever eaten – though I can’t remember exactly what it was. Suffice to say, you dipped slices of panettone into this indulgent dish and almost licked the pattern off the plate. We paired everything with some excellent Cretan wines – a clean and crisp white, a slightly chilled Pinot Noir, and a fantastic dessert wine. A truly magnificent experience. We will be back!
